§ 2-509. Officers and their duties.

  • The board of fire and police commissioners shall elect a chairperson and a secretary. They shall hold office until their successors are duly appointed and elected. If a vacancy occurs during the term of a commissioner, the mayor shall appoint a replacement to complete the term. The chairperson shall be the presiding officer at all meetings. The secretary shall keep the minutes of all meetings of the board in a permanent record book and shall be the custodian of all the forms, papers, books, and records of the board.
