§ 78-72. Application; registration statement.

  • (a)

    Every charitable organization which solicits or intends to solicit contributions by going door-to-door from persons in the city shall, prior to any solicitation, file with the city clerk a true and accurate copy of the registration statement required by the state Solicitation for Charity Act, 225 ILCS 460/0.01 et seq. or a letter from the state attorney general's office that the organization is not required to register with the state under such act.

    (b)

    Every charitable organization must fill out an application form as supplied by the city clerk. A person may submit a single application, which includes more than one agent or employee going door-to-door. In this case, the applicant shall be responsible for the acts of each person soliciting under the applicant's registration permit.
